The Miracle Myrrh streaming Hawaiian Mother of God Icon at Holy Trinity ROCOR in Toronto tonight. The icon tours the province of Ontario in Canada and then travels to Arizona and Michigan in the US.

Interesting back story, although the icon began to stream myrrh in Hawaii, the simple (but beautiful) paper on wood icon was originally purchased at the bookstore of the Holy Trinity ROCOR parish in Toronto during its 50th founding anniversary. The icon was later gifted by Fr. Anatole in 1997 to Deacon Nektarios. In June of 2008, the “Hawaiian” Myrrh-streaming Iveron Icon was officially recognized by the Russian Orthodox Church as miraculous and worthy of veneration, and was given the blessing and encouragement to travel to the various churches and monasteries of Holy Orthodoxy.

‼️🇷🇺The Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa was hit by a missile during the night.

The rocket hit right on the altar of the cathedral. This part of the building is completely destroyed. The rest of the temple received severe damage. It is not yet clear whether the entire cathedral is subject to restoration.

Rescue services carried the Kasperovskaya icon of the Mother of God from the cathedral. Outwardly, it is intact, but covered with debris.

People's Deputy Artem Dmytruk said that all the shrines of the temple remained intact, the people who were at the time of the strike survived.

Another video has come in from the Transfiguration church in Odessa.
Blessed feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos! Today many centuries, millenias even, the Theotokos fell asleep. We do not say her life ended because that is not what we believe. Dormition comes from the word dormant which is to be still or asleep, such as inactive volcanoes are. Through church tradition we are taught that the apostles were gathered at her bed escorted by angels. The Theotoks also recieved a branch from paradise and was visited by an angel 3 days before to announce to her what was to come.
In this icon we see a mans hands cut off by an angel. Why would this be included in the icon? Well when we read St. Gregory of Palamas we see that this man was a Jewish priest who hated Christ and the One who bore The God Incarnate. When he approached her bed to tip it over and mock her, an angel was sent down and cut off his hands. After this moment he became a confessor of the faith. When we say glory to God in all things, we mean ALL things. God is forgiving! May the Theotokos intercede for us sinners!
