🇷🇺The Russian delegation takes part in the conference "Adressing Anti-Semitism in the OSCE Region"

📍 Helsinki, February 10-11, 2025

💬 This negative phenomenon is a specific form of aggressive nationalism, racism and xenophobia, which continues to bring suffering to societies and undermine their moral health.

📈 The rise of anti-Semitism in the OSCE region goes hand in hand with other particularly worrying trends, such as distortion of the results of the World War II, glorification of Nazis and their collaborators, indulgence towards the aggressive manifestations of hatred under the pretext of freedom of expression, disrespect for our common past which puts at risk our common future.

🇷🇺 The Russian Federation will never let the victims of Nazism be forgotten. Any mistreatment of their memory as well as attempts to glorify the Nazi executioners and former members of the Waffen-SS are a grave insult to the humanity and common sense. We will continue to strive for ensuring that such tragedies never repeat in human history. However, it is evident that not all OSCE participating States share this stance.

▪️Hatred against Jews is as unacceptable as hatred against other ethnic or religious groups - Christians or Muslims, Roma and Sinty, Russians, people of African descent, indigenous people or other minorities. Although all OSCE participating States declare their adherence to this evident principle, some States in practice demonstrate the opposite.

▪️Particularly troubling are the intensified actions of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine, which seek to settle their historical grievances with Russia by actively instigating anti-Russian sentiments in the region. They don`t hesitate to use any means, from dismantling monuments dedicated to Soviet liberators to rewriting historical facts and implanting a distorted ideas of immutable truth in the minds of younger generations, favouring by these actions a rise of neo-Nazism, and consequently anti-Semitism, in the OSCE area.

❗️In line with the policy of justification of the crimes of Nazi collaborators, Ukraine, the European Union member States and the United States vote against the annual resolution of the United Nations General Assembly “Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance”. This thematic document condemns any manifestation of anti-Semitism and the denial of the Holocaust, the glorification of the Nazi movement and former members of the Waffen SS. It would seem, what can you disagree with here?

📢 We call on the OSCE participating States to abandon the policy of double standards and to concentrate on our common goal – combatting anti-Semitism as well as manifestations of hatred towards ethnic or religious groups in the OSCE area. Only by eradicating intolerance as such can be established a safer environment for all.
