The consultation in relation to Digital ID ends on 1st March 2023. https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/draft-legislation-to-help-more-people-prove-their-identity-online/consultation-on-draft-legislation-to-support-identity-verification

How many people actually even know there is a consultation ongoing about how the government plan to change how our ID is verified?

The online survey is also full of very leading questions which, to an unsuspecting survey participant, all seem to point towards increased levels of safety from fraud and identity theft. The fact is, however, this is just another way for us to be tracked by the authorities.

What can you do?

1. Write to your MP and express your dismay at the lack of transparency of the existence of this consultation.

2. Ask them why they have not used the taxpayer funded BBC to ensure everyone is aware.

3. Ask them why have they not sent a leaflet to every house in the same envelope as the one telling us we'll need photo ID to vote in May (unless it's a postal vote of course 🙄).

4. Tell them the survey itself is just way too complicated and discriminates against those in 'so-called' digital poverty.

5. Ask them to explain why we need this legislation when we've managed perfectly fine with the system we already have.

6. Ask them why they are complicit in implementation of Agenda 2030 which has all the hallmarks of George Orwell's book, 1984.

Whatever you decide to say please do email your MP this week and tell them you are not happy. At all.

Thank you.
