В июне 2023 года Елена Васильева перешла в в минкульт на должность заместителя министра из ГУ ЗАГС Рязанской области, где вместо нее стала руководить Елена Сорокина. Когда в октябре 2023-го состав кабинета министров покинула Марина Кауркина, Васильева стала «и.о.».
