⭕️ Al-Muwatta, by the Imam of the home of hijra, Malik b. Anas (may Allah have mercy on him)
🔸The first book of hadith that reached us complete and organized in terms of the chapters of knowledge is the Muwatta of Imam malik (may Allah have mercy on him).
Allah placed acceptance for this book in the souls of the people. Muwatta is from the most dignified books that were authored in the time of Imam Malik and the most encompassing in terms of benefits.
Ash-shafi'ee (may Allah have mercy on him) favored muwatta over all other books of hadith written during his time when he said "there is no book on the surface of the earth after the book of Allah that is more authentic than the muwatta of Malik"
🔸Perhaps, Imam Malik was the one who preceded the scholars of hadith in developing what is known as the science of hadith because it is almost impossible to know who preceded him in criticizing narrators and being strict regarding taking from narrators and scholars. Imam Malik gathered what he considered authentic in his muwatta whether its a hadith or tafsir or history. He also mentioned the statements of the sahaba, tabi'een and the imams before him
🔸The rank of muwatta among the books of hadith:
The degree of muwatta comes after the two sahih books (sahih bukhari and sahih muslim) in authenticity according to the majority of the scholars of hadith.
