قال ابن عباس: اختص الله أربعة أشهر جعلهن حرما وعظم حرماتهن وجعل الذنب فيهن أعظم وجعل العمل الصالح والأجر أعظم.
وما يفعله بعض الناس من تخصيص أيام معينة بالصيام أو صلاة خاصة برجب فهذا لا أصل له، قال الإمام ابن القيم: (وكل حديث في ذكر صوم رجب وصلاة بعض الليالي فيه فهو كذب مفترى).
