Тоннель под площадью Академика Лихачева создает единый пеший маршрут от Тучкова Моста до Кронверкской набережной и Петропавловской крепости.

Особенность перехода в нестандартном спуске: вместо лестничных сходов, установлены пандусы. А спуск подключен к системе обогрева, которая предотвратит образование наледи в холодное время года.
