My dog's really a study in Buddhism. He can see my muffin wrapper and he's miserable. Crying. He needs to eat my muffin wrapper so bad.

I get up and throw it away. He forgets about it immediately and happily goes to sleep.

You are not sad because you do not have a muffin wrapper, my beautiful boy, you are sad because you want the muffin wrapper. source

i see posts here about how people are so mortified when they are acknowledged as being a regular customer somewhere that they never return. cowards. the employees at taco bell treat me like a celebrity. like royalty. i am their strange little pet customer who gets traded along as staff comes and goes. they know my car before i even speak in the drive-thru speaker. today i was 2 hours late and she ran over and squealed that she "thought i'd left them!" and that she "made my order with extra love!" and you what, she did

It's like idk man, I still wash my paint brushes the way my art teacher taught me how a decade ago. I eat tortillas the same way as the ex I haven't seen in years. You can fly to the other side of the world and the shop will play the song your dad played in the car when you were a kid and it still sounds exactly the same. My hair grows funny in one spot because I got a scar on my scalp when I was six.

Sometimes I reach for light switches that aren't there, that have never been there, because I used to live someplace that had a light switch in that spot. And I think maybe life is about repeatedly reaching for light switches that aren't there. In a few years you'll be somewhere else, and you'll reach for the light switches you have now. source
The struggle was the realest!!! 😩😩😩

If you’re going into working with Latine/x families and you notice that the people are being treated as NUMBERS in that their cultural and unique needs are not being considered, know that it’s very unlikely that your needs will be!!

There ARE ways to center culture and community in ways that are sustaining and nourishing to families. Having experienced the BS that I did in working with Latinx families, I developed this training so that less people doing direct service contribute to the continued marginalization of familias. We deserve to be served within the context of our cultura and with our liberation in mind.

If you work with Latinx families, you MUST be there when we hold our 8-hour Professionals Intensive training on the 23rd and 24th of this month.

During the course of two 4-hour days, we’ll provide a foundation that examines the impact of colonial oppression and intergenerational trauma, and look into how these lived experiences may impact how individuals parent and view family dynamics.

We completely sold out last time around and seats are filling up fast, so don’t delay! We like to keep it intimate so we can spend a long time processing what will need time to process. 😮‍💨

🗣If you are an advocate of Latinx parents, children, and families, this is FOR YOU 🫵🏽
