It confuses me how normalized it is to be so anti human. The fact that two countries voted no to food being a human right. The fact so many people are against universal healthcare. The fact that it’s normal to believe some people don’t deserve housing because they’re poor, addicts, mentally ill, or any combination of the above. I find it so hard to comprehend that humans who have experienced hunger, thirst, cold, and illness would wish these things upon others, or at the very least not care. It frustrates me beyond belief.

These are the exact values we’re taught as children, to believe all humans are equal in worth and needs, and yet at some point you’re expected to grow out of that illusion. You’re expected to accept that this is what life’s like, that the world is unfair, and attempting to fix it makes you weak and childish. source

There are no food rules, ESPECIALLY when you're just feeding yourself.

The internet (and specifically TikTok, Pinterest, etc) has become obsessed with beautifully plated meals that follow certain conventions. It's all bullshit.

Crack your pasta in half before you put in the pot. Put BBQ sauce on your salad. Do whatever the hell you need to do to get nutrients into your body. The only rule is you need to eat. source

Reading about the WTO protests in Seattle sets a few precedents and a lot of lessons we can learn from.

1. Police lose nothing from stirring unrest. In fact, they gain more than they lose. In the case of the WTO, SPD were annoyed with the police chief and mayor doing an anti-police corruption probe in a historically corrupt SPD prior to then so they outright ignored the order from the mayor and the police chief to not engage protesters.

2. The Black Bloc worked in coordination with direct action organizers. Due to groundwork being laid out weeks prior to the meeting, protesters with different tactics and levels of resistance tolerance were able to confer with one another. The Bloc’s specific function was to reinforce and back up non-violent protests when police aggressed the situation. source

Sharing this clip from my time in conversation with my love @fernando.deveras and the homie @socialprimates about what it means to decolonize our, our parenting, and our youth. I mean what I say and I say what I mean. The beef with the white parenting world is a manifestation of my rage around the fact that they lied to me about the fact that these “gentle/attachment parenting” practices were their experts’, and not the truth that they were stolen from my ancestors and replaced in our families with survival strategies to their violence.
