Я тут на днях наткнулся на твит, где выложили код:

const fetchData = async () => {
    const response = await fetch('https://website.com');
    const data = await response.json();
    return data;
}

Как бы, добавь await и вроде бы все ок будет.
Но на самом деле мало-мальский fetch сделать - это с ума сойти.
