27 ноября 1948 года первые 8 троллейбусов отправились в путь по маршруту, который занимал всего 10-12 минут от начала до конца, с всего лишь двумя светофорами на пути. Развитие городского транспорта шло полным ходом, и вскоре троллейбусные маршруты охватили все 7 районов Казани.
