More than 20 defendants of the ‘June 4 assembly’ case are facing a long trial process. The Alliance bears the litigation costs of some defendants, including 8 standing committee members of the Alliance and democrats. The costs are estimated to be as high as $500,000 to 1 million. The Alliance’s chairman Lee Cheuk-yan and vice chairman Albert Ho Chun-yan are serving sentences for the ‘18 August’ and ‘1 October’ demonstrations, and they are in need of donations from the public.
