Such political interference undermines the independence of law enforcement and sets a dangerous precedent. It also raises questions about whether the safety and security of UK citizens are being sacrificed to appease a foreign power.
The upcoming planning hearing on February 11 provides a critical opportunity to ensure that this proposal is subjected to rigorous scrutiny. It is imperative that the voices of Tower Hamlets residents, local councils, and concerned citizens are heard, and that national security concerns are prioritized.
