قال أمير المؤمنين (ع): من نصب نفسه للناس إماما فعليه أن يبدأ بتعليم نفسه قبل تعليم غيره, وليكن تأديبه بسيرته قبل تأديبه بلسانه, ومعلم نفسه ومؤدبها أحق بالإجلال من معلم الناس ومؤدبهم. Amir Al-Mu'meneen (Pbuh) said: "Whoever appoints as an Imam among the people must begin by teaching himself before teaching others. His discipline of others should be through his actions before it is through his words. The one who teaches and disciplines himself is more deserving of reverence than the one who teaches and disciplines others."
