Today most of the Troops who are recruited in 31 RR are From para Regt.
It was raised for 'Son of soil concept'
In which soldiers and officers from Dogra regt,Parachute regt, JakRif and JakLi were made to do Probation and then join the unit. The special thing about this unit was Most of the troops are local Kashmiris due to which 31 RR managed to gather more Intelligence,kills,surrenders etc.
The dogra jakrif concept was Stopped for some reasons.
Today 31 RR is a Pure Parachute Regt RR battalion.
