По версии следствия, в 2019 году Яковлев незаконно предоставил в аренду лесной участок Фурмановского лесхоза компании «Хромцовский карьер». Работники этой компании вырубили деревья и начали добывать щебень и гравий. Ущерб от этих действий оценивается в 109 миллионов рублей.
Яковлеву инкриминируется превышение должностных полномочий, повлёкшее тяжкие последствия. Максимальное наказание по этой статье — 10 лет лишения свободы.
