#سئل شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية ـ رحمه الله: عن رجل مسلم يعمل عملاً يستوجب أن يُبنى له قصر في الجنة ويغرس له غراس باسمه، ثم يعمل ذنوبًا يستوجب بها النار، فإذا دخل النار كيف يكون اسمه أنه في الجنة وهو في النار؟
#فأجاب: وإن تاب عن ذنوبه توبة نصوحاً فإن الله يغفر له ولا يحرمه ما كان وعده، بل يعطيه ذلك، وإن لم يتب وزنت حسناته وسيئاته، فإن رجحت حسناته على سيئاته كان من أهل الثواب، وإن رجحت سيئاته على حسناته كان من أهل العذاب، وما أعدّ له من الثواب يحبط حينئذ بالسيئات التي زادت على حسناته، كما أنه إذا عمل سيئات استحق بها النار ثم عمل بعدها حسنات تذهب السيئات.
