On 21.12.2024, around 2000 neo-Nazis from all over Germany gathered in Magdeburg and instrumentalised the attack on the Christmas market for their racist agenda. The demonstration was organised by Kampf der Niebelungen organiser Alexander Deptolla. Various big names from the neo-Nazi scene appeared as speakers: Sebastian Schmidtke (Die Heimat), Christian Klar, Peter Schreiber (Die Heimat), Sascha Krolzig (Die Heimat), Thorsten Heise and Christian Worch (Die Rechte). The crowd chanted "Germany wake up!", "Foreigners out!", "If you don't love Germany, leave Germany!", "Deport", "Down with the Red Plague" and "Tick pigs".
After a 1.5 hour rally on Hasselbachplatz, the demonstration set off as a silent march along Otto-von-Guericke-Str. towards the main railway station, where it ended. Fascists continuously harassed and threatened members of the press at the edge of the march in Magdeburg.
