🔴امروز ۳۰ شهریور مصادف است با روز جهانی گفتگوی تمدن‌ها هر ساله در ۲۱ سپتامبر (برابر با ۳۰ شهریور ماه در ایران) در تقویم رسمی ایران نیز در ۳۰ شهریور به این مفهوم اشاره شده است. این مفهوم پس از آنکه سازمان ملل متحد سال ۲۰۰۱ را «سال گفتگوی تمدن‌ها» اعلام کرد، گسترش یافت.
🔹«گفتگوی تمدن‌ها» به ابتکار ایران و پس از سخنرانی محمد خاتمی، رئیس جمهور وقت ایران، در سازمان ملل به موضوعی جهانی تبدیل شد.
🔹ایده «گفتگوی تمدن‌ها» با هدف ایجاد زمینه‌های تفاهم بین ملت‌ها و نقد سلطه غرب بر جهان مطرح شد و همزمان با آن، سازمان ملل نیز در (۱۳۷۷ شمسی) سال ۲۰۰۱ میلادی را «سال گفتگوی تمدن‌ها» اعلام کرد.
🔹این روز به عنوان یادآور ضرورت «گفتگو و تعامل سازنده با جهان» و ایجاد صلح در سطح بین‌المللی شناخته می‌شود.
