Одним из лучших ростовских иконостасов был иконостас Троицкого собора Ростовского Варницкого монастыря. В 1930-е годы иконостас и собор были уничтожены, но сохранились фотографии, сделанные С.Ф. Агафоновым в 1930 году по заказу Ростовского музея.
