🟠 The Evil of Murder and Its Varying Degrees 🟠

🖇️ The degrees of murder vary based on:
◻️ Its heinousness ,
◻️ And the right of the one killed that efforts be made to preserve their life and offer them counsel.
🖇️ This is why the most severely punished people on the Day of Judgment will be:
◼️ Those who killed a prophet or were killed by a prophet.
◼️ Following them are those who kill an imam or a scholar who commands justice to the people , calls them to Allah, and advises them in their religion.
🖇️ And Allah سبحانہ وتعالى has decreed the punishment for intentionally killing a believing soul to be:
◻️ Eternity in Hellfire,
◻️ And the wrath of Allah
◻️ And His curse,
🖇️ And the preparation of a great torment for him. This is the consequence of intentionally killing a believer unless there is a deterrent that prevents such a punishment.

📮And since the evil of murder is this great evil,

⚪️ Allah سبحانه وتعالى says:
{مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَٰلِكَ كَتَبْنَا عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنَّهُ مَن قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا}

"So because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely".(Al Maidah: 32)

🟠 And in Sahih al-Bukhari, it is narrated by Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنه who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"A servant continues to remain in a state of ease in his religion as long as he does not shed unlawful blood."

🏷️ Fus’hah: It means a wide expanse or scope.

⚪️ And Al-Bukhari also narrated from Ibn 'Umar
"Among the deadly traps from which one cannot escape if he falls in it, is the shedding of unlawful blood."

🏷️ Al-Waratat (الوَرَطَات): Plural of waratah (وَرَطَة), which refers to a calamity or disaster from which a person can hardly escape.

🟠 And In both Sahihs, it is narrated from Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه, that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"Reviling a Muslim is disobedience, and fighting him is disbelief."

🏷️ "Reviling a Muslim is disobedience, and fighting him is disbelief"—this has two interpretations:

"Reviling a Muslim is disobedience, and fighting him is disbelief"—this has two interpretations:
◼️ Either it is said that fighting him is described as disbelief to emphasize the severity of the sin.

◼️ Or it is said that fighting him is disbelief if one deems his killing permissible. If a person declares that killing a Muslim is allowed in a certain matter, then he is considered a disbeliever because he has legitimized the unlawful shedding of blood.

⚪️ And in both Sahihs, it is also narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"Do not turn back to disbelief after me by striking one another’s necks."

🏷️ "Striking one another’s necks"—this means that you will declare each other as disbelievers,
🖇️ So it will ultimately lead to bloodshed, and this is among the matters that are prohibited.

🟠 And in Sahih al-Bukhari, the Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever kills a mu'ahid (a non-Muslim under a treaty) will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, even though its fragrance can be detected from a distance of forty years."

🏷️ "Did not smell the fragrance of Paradise"—meaning he will not even get close enough to smell the fragrance of Paradise.

🏷️ Mu'ahad (المُعَاهَد): He is the one who has a personal treaty or agreement with the Muslims.

Like one who enters a Muslim land with a visa and permission from the state or through agreements between nations—so such a person is under a covenant and protection, and thus it is not permissible for anyone to harm this disbeliever, even if they remain a disbeliever.

📮 This is the punishment for killing an enemy of Allah who was under a treaty and in His protection, so, what then would be the punishment for killing a believing servant of Allah ⁉️

🖇️ And if a woman entered Hellfire because of a cat she imprisoned until it died of hunger and thirst—such that the Prophet ﷺ saw her in Hell, with the cat scratching her face and chest, then what would be the punishment for imprisoning a believer until they die unjustly?

⚪️ And in some Sunan collections, it is narrated from the Prophet ﷺ:
"The destruction of the world is lighter in the sight of Allah than the unjust killing of a believer."

Translation:
🔖For this reason, the most severely punished people on the Day of Judgment will be those who killed a prophet or were killed by a prophet. Following them in severity will be those who kill an imam or a scholar who enjoins justice among the people, calls them to Allah, and sincerely advises them in their religion.🔖

Explaination:
▫️Because the person whom Allah has made the heir of the prophets, the messenger of His message, and the trustee of His revelation—there is no doubt that killing him is a great crime.
▫️This indicates that by killing such a reformer, an attempt is being made to obstruct the spread of Allah’s religion and His revelation on the earth.
▫️Therefore, some people view such matters with excessive emotion, imbalance, and a mistaken perspective. They say that this is about giving scholars superiority over others and making people servants of scholars, whereas the matter is not as they perceive it.
▫️And the reality is, where does a scholar derive his status and rank from? It is because he has gathered within his heart the knowledge of the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger His position is not due to his own self, personality, physical stature, or any distinction from the people.
▫️The purpose here is that this scholar has made a place in his heart for the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah It is for this reason that his rank has increased, and his status has been elevated among the people.

✍️ The fire of desires continues to chase a person with its scorching heat and burning winds, until the servant seeks the rainfall of Allah’s mercy through remembrance and worship.

And the more he continues in remembrance and increases in it, the more the rain of mercy keeps falling, refreshing and reviving a soul that has been burned by the fire of desires.

And the best remembrance is the recitation of the Qur'an in the manner commanded by Shari'ah.

{إِنَّ اللهَ يُحِبُّ التَّوّابينَ وَيُحِبُّ المُتَطَهِّرينَ}
"Indeed, Allah loves those who repent and loves those who purify themselves." (Al-Baqarah: 222)

Do not demand infallibility from yourself; for it is one of the characteristics of the Prophet ﷺ..

But seek it through abundant repentance and constant seeking of forgiveness, for deficiency and error are inherent in human nature..

🤚🏿And therefore, the status of repentance is great; no human being can remain independent of it..

And the repentant person has benefits which he reaps:

1) Indeed, Allah rejoices over his repentance.

2) He replaces his sins with good deeds.

3) He appoints angels for him who supplicate and seek forgiveness for him.

{فَاغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا}
"So forgive those who have repented."

{وَقِهِمُ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ}
"And protect them from sins."

So do not despair, no matter how often your sins recur, and do not lose hope in the mercy of Allah, which encompasses everything..

📮 How many people with valid excuses have we wronged with the whip of سوء ظن (bad suspicion) and depriving them of the chance to explain and clarify..

And this explains to us part of the Prophet’s ﷺ words in Khutbat al-Haajah: "And we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our own selves."

🤚🏿 If we excuse others even half as much as we excuse ourselves, our relationships will be much better..

🟠 The Evil of Zina (Fornication & Adultery) 🟠

💬 Ibn al-Qayyim رحمہ الله said:

Since the evil of zina (fornication and adultery) is among the greatest of evils,
◻️ And it directly opposes the system of the world in preserving lineage,
◼️ And protecting chastity,
◻️ And safeguarding honor,
◼️ And preventing what leads to the greatest enmity and hatred among people—

💭 By corrupting each other’s wives, and daughters, and sisters, and mothers,
🖇️ And in that lies the destruction of society.
🖇️ Its severity follows immediately after the evil of murder.
🖇️ And this is why Allah سبحانہ وتعالى has paired it with murder in His Book, and His Messenger ﷺ has done the same in his Sunnah.

💬 Imam Ahmad رحمہ الله said:
"I do not know anything greater after murder than zina."

💭 And Allah سبحانہ وتعالى has emphasized its prohibition in His statement:

❝And those who do not call upon another god besides Allah, nor kill a soul that Allah has forbidden—except by right—nor commit zina. And whoever does that will meet a severe punishment. ۞ Their punishment will be doubled on the Day of Judgment, and they will remain therein humiliated ۞ Except for those who repent...❞

🖇️ Thus, Allah سبحانہ وتعالى has coupled it with shirk and murder,
⚪️ And made its punishment eternal torment with double punishment,
⚪️ Unless the servant removes the cause of this punishment through repentance, faith, and righteous deeds.

🖇️ And since the root of this sin begins with the gaze,
🖇️ Allah سبحانہ وتعالى commanded lowering the gaze before the command to guard one’s private parts.
⚪️ For all occurrences originate from gaze,
⚪️ Just as most fires arise from a small spark.

🖇️ So, it begins with:
A glance ➝ then a thought ➝ then a step ➝ then the major sin.

💬 And for this reason, it has been said:
"Whoever safeguards these four, has secured his religion: his glances, his thoughts, his words, and his steps."

🖇️ So, it is necessary for the servant to be the gatekeeper of his own self at these four entrances, remaining constantly on guard at their openings.
🖇️ For through them, the enemy enters upon him, so he roams through the dwellings and utterly demolishes whatever is elevated within them.
