On July 31, 1920, a distinguished Greek was murdered in the center of Athens, perhaps the most important visionary of the Greek Idea. On that day, the legendary fighter of the Macedonian Struggle, Ion Dragoumis, was assassinated, the real father of Greek Nationalism, being a key catalyst in the formation of the Greek Ideology, whose peaks also were Giannopoulos, Palamas, Sikelianos and many others.
