You might remember us mentioning Max Ingrand, a talented glassworker, who was, for about ten years, an artistic leader of FontanaArte, an Italian company founded by Luigi Fontana and Gio Ponti in 1932. It turns out that the same post in this acclaimed company was at some point held by Gae Aulenti we have recently talked about.
After seeing an industrial trolley used to transport glass around the “FontanaArte” factory, Gae Aulenti immediately designed a coffee table by combining industrial wheels with a hardened piece of glass.
