P.S. We’d like to fast-forward to 2014 and add a more personal touch to this story. One of our most powerful encounters with Siza’s architecture awaited us in a Sabrosa winery. Together with like-minded architecture and wine aficionados, we were touring the Douro Valley exploring its wine-making traditions and couldn’t but visit Quinta do Portal, whose wines and premises designed by Siza back in 2008 impressed us so much that our memories are just as fresh, almost ten years later.
Cheers, Maestro! May you live long and happily!
