Translation:Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله تعالى said:
🔖For this reason, the most severely punished people on the Day of Judgment will be those who killed a prophet or were killed by a prophet. Following them in severity will be those who kill an imam or a scholar who enjoins justice among the people, calls them to Allah, and sincerely advises them in their religion.
🔖Explaination:▫️Because the person whom Allah has made the heir of the prophets, the messenger of His message, and the trustee of His revelation—there is no doubt that killing him is a great crime.
▫️This indicates that by killing such a reformer, an attempt is being made to obstruct the spread of Allah’s religion and His revelation on the earth.
▫️Therefore, some people view such matters with excessive emotion, imbalance, and a mistaken perspective. They say that this is about giving scholars superiority over others and making people servants of scholars, whereas the matter is not as they perceive it.
▫️And the reality is, where does a scholar derive his status and rank from? It is because he has gathered within his heart the knowledge of the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger His position is not due to his own self, personality, physical stature, or any distinction from the people.
▫️The purpose here is that this scholar has made a place in his heart for the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah It is for this reason that his rank has increased, and his status has been elevated among the people.
