وبعد برهة تفك النّاقة وثاقها وتبقى تهيم في الصحراء حتى آخر عمرها.
فكان العرب يُسمون هذه الناقة "السُّدَى"..
ولذلك يقول الله عز وجل: {أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى}، أي أن يترك يهيم يفعل ما يريد ويذهب أينما يريد بلا أوامر ولاشريعة.
ونقول أيضا: ذهبت حياته سُدى أي ضاعت حياته هائما فيها من غير فائدة.
