شباهت ظاهری علامت «تیک» به «عدد هفت» در زبان فارسی، ملاک این معادلگزینی بوده است؛ به بیان دیگر، فرهنگستان از پسوند «کاف» شباهت استفاده و واژۀ «هفتک» را معادل «تیک» تصویب کرد.
